Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced 5g services in India at the sixth edition of India Mobile Congress. His new telecom network promises seamless coverage, faster data rate and less delay for internet connectivity.

1. High-speed internet

Fifth generation technology offers ultra-high internet speeds with seamless lag-free connectivity for billions of devices worldwide. As such, it will open the doors for many new applications including e-health services, connected vehicles, more immersive augmented reality/metaverse experiences, lifesaving use cases and advanced mobile cloud gaming services. As part of its Digital India vision, this initiative will enable India to bypass traditional barriers to development. 2. Lag-free connectivity

3. Low-cost devices
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Pragati Maidan to see how 5G will be applied across different fields. He stated, “130 crore Indians are receiving a gift from government and telecom industry in form of 5G technology today.” Additionally, this new era will help break through traditional barriers to development while encouraging startups and business enterprises – as well as furthering Digital India.
Reliance Jio demonstrated how 5G will enable teachers to connect remotely with students via video conferencing – eliminating physical distance between them. PM Modi noted the launch of 5G as “an exciting step towards the new era”, promising many opportunities. He encouraged youth and start-up entrepreneurs to seize them. PM Modi visited three telcos as well as technology providers’ stalls before witnessing Reliance Jio’s True 5G devices as well as experiencing one of their use cases with its Jio Glass device.
