Lemon was one of the key voices covering the 1992 riots for CNN, helping spark nationwide protests after King was brutally killed. Furthermore, his work exposed how city authorities had been using excessive force against Black residents to keep them off the street.
One year later, King settled his civil suit against Los Angeles for $3.8 million and purchased a modest home near downtown. Additionally, he would offer guidance to young at-risk children.

CNN news anchor Don Lemon has made public his sexual orientation in his new memoir. Lemon says he decided to come out following the suicide of a Rutgers University student due to their sexuality last year.

He expressed that being Gay felt like an enormous burden due to how his community perceived it. His single mother worked two jobs to provide for both him and his sisters.
Variety reports that Lemon has come under scrutiny for making several offensive remarks on-air during his career, according to reports by Variety. He allegedly called one of his producers fat directly and mocked CNN host Soledad O’Brien during a staff call, according to this publication.
On Monday, Lemon was dismissed by his network for unknown reasons; however, Variety published earlier this month allegations against her.
